No employees will be laid off due to the store closings, Stop & Shop said.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration investigated the employee’s death and cited Northridge for “willful and serious violations” of workplace safety standards, fining the company nearly $225,000.

“We're not going to allow the assets of this county, mainly its infrastructure, to be neglected,” Romaine told Newsday on Wednesday. “It only costs more to replace it if we don't maintain what we have.”
