A Freeport-based construction company is barred from performing public work, after pleading guilty to falsifying paperwork with the Wantagh Union Free School District, officials said Thursday.

Score one for cleaner water — finally. A proposed major wastewater treatment plan, unveiled Monday, that would bring much-needed sewers and high-tech septic tanks to Suffolk County is good news for both the environment and county residents.

It's the first phase of three years of construction on the project by the state and Nassau County, Gov. Kathy Hochul's office said Tuesday.
