Northwell, Plainview nurses reach tentative contract but 2 other LI hospitals face possible strike

Northwell Health and nurses at its Plainview Hospital have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract, averting a potential strike that was scheduled to begin Monday, the health system and the nurses' union confirmed Friday.

“Northwell Plainview Hospital is pleased to have reached a tentative agreement with [New York State Nurses Association],” Barbara Osborn, the health system’s deputy chief public relations officer said in an emailed statement to Newsday. “From the start of negotiations, our goal has been to reach a fair contract that supports our valued nurses and upholds the high standard of care our patients and community trust.”
