It’s a dead heat when it comes to Long Islanders’ opinions on the idea of building a casino at the Nassau Coliseum, according to a new Newsday/Siena College poll.

NEW YORK — Workers at more than 200 U.S. Starbucks walked off the job Thursday in what organizers said was the largest strike yet in the two-year-old effort to unionize the company’s stores.

The website, OSWLongIsland.org, is sponsored by Vineyard Offshore, a developer of offshore wind sites in the Northeast, and is designed to be a first step in an online and in-school career guidance program.

The contract had the support of 55 percent of the nearly 36,000 members voting, though majorities at several large G.M. factories voted against the agreement. A spokesman for the union confirmed the accuracy of the tally but declined to comment further.

Long Island will get around half its energy from offshore wind resources by 2030 and customers will begin paying around 2% more per year in their power supply charge as more green-energy makes its way onto the local and state grids by that time, according to a new power-resource analysis by LIPA
