Suffolk County Proposition Two asks Suffolk residents to approve a 0.125% increase in the county sales tax to fund the expansion of sewers and state-of-the-art septic systems that filter nitrogen out of wastewater. They are essential to the goal of clean water.

In a statement, the union said that it had reached “a tentative agreement on wages” and that its 45,000 members would go back to work, with the current contract extended until Jan. 15. The union said it was returning to the bargaining table “to negotiate all other outstanding issues.”

In Lindenhurst, there’s a new course at the high school called Advanced Computer Science Principles and Artificial Intelligence, taught by Glenn Habibi. Habibi said learning how to use AI programs prepares students for a career in computer science and other fields.
