A food bank’s workforce institute graduated its second class of skilled workers who aim to attain economic mobility and move toward food security.

Long Island’s first recreational cannabis store is slated to open this weekend, according to the new business’ website. 

Called Strain Stars, the dispensary is located in a 3,500-square-foot space at 1815 Broadhollow Road in East Farmingdale.

A Long Island Rail Road union is fighting to overturn the LIRR's zero-tolerance employee marijuana policy, which it says violates state law allowing recreational pot use and unjustly cost two veteran electricians their jobs.
