Stanton & Durso: Labor on the front lines of confronting climate change

Labor knows climate change. Our union movement saw up front and personal the power of an angry Atlantic during Superstorm Sandy and the indiscriminate destruction left in its path. We were among the first responders to start putting the South Shore back together when the winds and tides receded.
So, it is with that practical appreciation of what climate change can do to our region, the Long Island Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO supports the creation of a unionized offshore wind industry, including the construction of wind turbines many miles from our shorelines.
