A Show of Solidarity by Bridgehampton Teachers Highlights Nearly a Year of Working Without a Contract

“Many of our members have expressed frustration with a toxic working environment,” Pluta said.
When asked to expand on what, exactly, those frustrations were related to, Hansen chimed in. “Conversations between administration and staff, and the tone that some of those conversations take,” she said. “Some of our members have concerns about that.”
A month later, those allegations became more specific, with the teachers’ association laying the blame for the alleged toxic work environment at the feet of the former superintendent, Kelly.
The union alleged that, over the last three years, they’d heard reports from union members that Kelly had berated them and shouted at them behind closed doors, and added that they had that kind of experience themselves earlier this school year.
