Long Island tourism poised to top $8B

Tourism is “economic development in action,” Mitch Pally, interim CEO and president of Discover Long Island (DLI), told local leaders, noting its role in supporting downtowns, restaurants and hotels and boosting visitation to cultural institutions and parks.
According to the most recent data from Tourism Economics, tourism on Long Island supports nearly 80,000 jobs and generates more than $945 million in state and local tax revenue.
