Free pre-K expands across Long Island, easing childcare costs

Long Island is gaining free pre-K seats across 84 of its districts, lowering costs for families and easing the burden of paying daycare expenses for working parents. One example is the new standalone Silas Wood Pre-K Center in South Huntington, where the district is guaranteeing a seat for every eligible 4-year-old whose family wants one, according to New York State.
