Thanks to the tremendous courage of the partners at the Massapequa Starbucks they are the first unionized Starbucks on Long Island. We are proud to welcome them into our union family. I am confident that they felt the love and support of all of the union members who joined us at our solidarity action earlier this year. We went to send the message that we have their backs. It must have been heard loud and clear. More information on their win can be found below.
It is important to remember that our school board elections and school budget votes are just around the corner taking place on May 17th across Long Island. They are at the center of our communities educating our children and grandchildren. Below you will find a list of union endorsed candidates who are dedicated to our students and support our teachers and district staff. They understand our public schools unite us and should be a beacon of hope and opportunity. Please vote in support of your school budgets and these candidates.
We also have a number of events coming up that we hope you will support or participate in. The first is on Saturday. It is a rally to support women's reproductive health. The other is a celebration of our union movement and the communities from which we hail. It is the Annual Mayday Music Festival.
