On Workers’ Memorial Day workers across our nation pause to remember those who have died as a result of a workplace injury or illness. Over the last few years, Long Island’s workers, as in many other years, failed to escape the tragedy of death as a result of performing their jobs. These workers and their grieving families must not be forgotten. Please join the Long Island Workers’ Memorial Day Committee on April 28th to honor these workers at a service dedicated to their memory.
The memorial service will be in the lobby of the New York State Office building located at 250 Veterans Memorial Highway in Hauppauge at 6:30 PM on April 28th. The program will include comments about those we honor -- family, friends and union brothers and sisters. It will conclude with the planting of flowers at the base of the memorial. All families are welcome.
We ask all local unions to review the events of 2025 and notify the committee by responding to this email if you had a member pass away in an on the job incident. We appreciate your ongoing support.
